Hi Zenith Catcher,

A quick story from my week:

3 weeks ago, I started a new job as a Sales Development Representative at a Swiss B2B software startup.

It’s my first proper cold calling role in sales.

The goal: 15 meetings/demos booked per month.

In my, more or less, first real week on the phone… I booked 10 demos.

(For full transparency: 1 demo I booked the week before on Friday, and I cold called two afternoons for the company before my official start date)

That’s maybe a decent start. Maybe even the company record.

And yet, when I saw those numbers, I didn’t feel like celebrating long.

Instead, one thought hit me:

“Great job. Now do it again, just better and more.”

It’s a mental model I try to live by.

Because here’s the truth:

A small win can either become your new standard…

Or your downfall.

There’s a proverb in the Bible that says:

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”

In other words: If you get too proud, too early, you stop improving.

You let off the gas.

You think you’re the man, until life humbles you.

So I try to remind myself:

Celebrate? Yes.

Get comfortable? Never.

Ask: What worked? What was luck? What can I control next time?

I’m early in this game. I’ve got a lot to learn.

But I want to learn fast. Pay down my ignorance debt.

Become dangerous as quickly as possible.

Because real progress isn’t one lucky week.

It’s learning how to repeat the win.

And then doing it again.

And again.

And again.

So here’s my challenge for you this week:

What’s one area where you’ve had a little success… but haven’t yet built a repeatable process?

Find it.

Then ask: What would “better and more” look like here?

Now go get it.

Much love,
Nicola

Next week’s episode:

Episode 209: After ending a 7.5-year relationship, I now find myself in the position of trying to find the wife I want to spend the rest of my life with. In this episode, I share how I’m attempting to do that — systematically. Plus, a few other reflections from the week, including lessons from my new job in sales. Goes live tomorrow here.

Things I’ve Learned This Week:

1. Statistically, the person you’ll spend the most time with in life isn’t your parents, friends, or even your kids—it’s your spouse.

One study showed that people spend more time with their partner than with anyone else across their lifetime.

So who you choose to marry isn’t just a love story—it’s a time story.

2. 2 Rules from Dr. Jordan B. Peterson:

Don’t say things you don’t mean.

Don’t go along with things you don’t agree with.

Quote of the Week:

“Eat like a lion, work like a lion, feel like a lion, live like a lion“ — Naval Ravikant
