Hi Zenith Catcher,

“The first step to achieving a massive dream is conquering tiny impulses.” — Alex Hormozi

Big dreams don’t die from big failures. They die from small impulses.

The impulse to scroll instead of write.

To hit snooze instead of train.

To check email instead of build.

Each feels harmless. But over weeks, months, years, they quietly rob you of the life you could have built.

The good news? The opposite is also true. Every time you win over a tiny impulse, you strengthen the muscle of discipline. Stack enough small wins, and suddenly the impossible looks inevitable.

Massive dreams aren’t achieved in one heroic act. They’re achieved one conquered impulse at a time.

Don’t try to “be disciplined” forever. Just win the next impulse.

Much love,

Nicola

This week’s episode:

Episode 219: At 18, I thought success came from being the smartest guy in the room, saying what people wanted to hear, and chasing every new opportunity. I was wrong. In this episode, I share 14 life lessons that would have saved me years of mistakes — from authenticity and disagreement to sacrifice, focus, and cycles of success.

Things I’ve Learned This Week:

Inflammation

“Sixty million people die on the planet Earth every year.

And 40 million of them die from heart disease, stroke, neurodegeneration, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and cancer.

So two thirds of the people that die every year on the planet Earth die of those conditions.

And that’s according to the World Health Organization.

Those conditions all have one thing in common: they’re either caused by inflammation or made worse by inflammation.”

— Dr. Kevin Tracey

Quote of the Week:

“The oldest pattern in human history is ‘Here’s a problem. And here’s a bunch of people who are different than us. Let’s blame it on them.’” — Scott Alexander
